South Korea is dealing with a major national crisis. This is the result of the spread of the Foot and Mouth Disease that has spread all over the country and there millions of cattle have been culled off. There have been more than 140 cases registered of the disease.
Lim Kang- Soo had never thought his cattle could catch this horrible infection. He is one of the many farmers of the country.
He is a man who had dedicated his entire life’s saving into a cow farm is shocked to see the turn of events. He has strictly given his cows all the prescribed vaccines; still eight of his cattle were tested positive for this disease.
"We sterilized ourselves head to toe whenever we stepped in and out of the shed", Lim said, adding "Our village is tucked away deep in the hills, 60 kilometers away from the closest FMD case. How could this have happened?".
It is an airborne virus and no matter how much one tries, a speck of air containing the virus is enough o attack millions of healthy livestock.
The health government of the nation still has some serious issues to take care of. There is the need to ensure the rights of these poor farmers and help them get over this terrible loss.
