Premature Hair Losses Can Be a Indicator Of Prostate Cancer, Reveals Research

If you are balding at an early age, you really have a reason to worry.

As per the findings of a recent study conducted by the researchers from the Georges Pompidou European Hospital in Paris, hair loss can be a strong indication of a prostate cancer among men, later in their life.

The research recruited nearly 670 men with 50% of them having the pre-existing condition of prostate cancer and interviewed them on their baldness patterns.

It was then unveiled that the men who had started losing their hair in their 20s itself were at quite higher risk of developing cancer as compared to those who did not even in their 30s.

It is learnt that the cancer is second most common cause of death among men in UK and North America.

According to the recent figures, more than 4,000 Canadians and whopping 39,000 US citizens lose their lives to this deadly disease.

Phillippe Giraud, the lead investigator, asserted that: “Current prostate screening protocols are very controversial because some worry that systematic screening at 50 years old - without taking other criteria into account - will lead to over-treatment”.

He, however, maintained that early balding cannot be taken as a surety of cancer development.
