China loses its Best Buy Co. store as the organization decide to wrap up its namesake store in China, shifting the new U. S. store growth to smaller format rather than those familiar large boxes. The electronic tycoon now aims to shift its capital and allocate it to more profitable ventures.
According to an announcement by a retailing house The Richfield, it was closing its 9 best buy locations in the Chinese lands which have not performed as well as the similar big box stores in the United States. It also announced its exit from the markets in Turkey where it recently started to operate.
Best Buy intends to focus on growing in the Peoples’ Republic of China under another retailing format called as the Five Star that has recently proved to be more successful than. The electrical giant plans to open at least fifty to sixty additional stores under the name of Five Star in the year of 2012. Best Buy added that they also planned to drastically decrease speed of expansion of big box stores in the united states in 2011 and the year after and focus more on opening one hundred and fifty new mobile locations, that is a smaller format focusing towards smart phones. If this plan gets going it would double the number of Best Buy mobile locations making it three hundred and twenty five. Mr. Brian Dunn the executive in chief of the Best Buy said that they are pleased to continue with their investments in the Five star business models and the Best Buy mobiles which are not only profitable but also have a very significant growth opportunities. A source related to the company said that the announcement of shutting down in China and Turkey were made after 9 pm in the evening to let the employees know in advance.
