On Tuesday, Chinese computer biggie Lenovo virtually launched a ThinkPad onslaught – announcing six new ThinkPad notebooks running Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge chips that facilitate faster as well as more power-efficient performance of the PCs, as compared to the older models.
Lenovo’s new lineup of ThinkPad T, W, and L notebooks include: ThinkPad T420; T420S; T520; W520; L420 and L520. All these laptops run on Intel’s latest dual- and quad-core i3, i5 and i7 processors, which were officially unveiled earlier this year.
About the new ThinkPad laptops, Preston Taylor – Lenovo’s product marketing manager for ThinkPad – said that these laptops boast a much longer battery life, thanks largely to the power-efficiency features on Intel’s Sandy Bridge chips, which have been amalgamated with Lenovo's new power-saving features.
In addition, the new ThinkPad laptops also include Lenovo's Windows boot-speed boosting technology which, as per the company’s claims, provides a 30 percent boost to Windows boot speeds.
With Lenovo further adding that the new ThinkPad notebook models offer a higher level of productivity for mobile business professionals, the ThinkPad marketing head Dilip Bhatia said: “Inspired by our customers, the 2011 ThinkPad laptops deliver the best technologies the industry has to offer, enabling users to do more with their computing experience.”
The new ThinkPads – which will be capable of running at clock speeds between 2GHz and 2.7GHz – are scheduled to hit the markets, worldwide, in March.
