LG Electronics recently unveiled its much-hyped LG Optimus Pad – a tablet computer that boasts diverse multimedia and productivity features; and is expected to give neck-and-neck competition to the equally-raved-about Motorola Xoom this year.
The Optimus Pad – clearly one of the most-talked-about Android tablets at present – features an 8.9-inch 1280×768 WXGA resolution widescreen display; and is powered by 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor. The tablet runs Google’s Android 3.0 version which makes the device easy to use, as a result of its more intuitive PC-like interface.
Furthermore, boasting a dual-lens 3D camera, the Optimus Pad is not only the world’s first tablet with a 3D camera, but also wraps users in an immersive multimedia environment with Full HD 1080p decoding.
That the LG Optimus Pad is essentially a crop of LG’s close partnership with visual computing leader NVIDIA is clearly reflected in the fact that the splendid graphics and multitasking capabilities of NVIDIA Tegra 2 enables the tablet to run multiple apps simultaneously as well as handle rich multimedia effortlessly.
Talking about the Optimus Pad, Dr. Jong-seok Park - President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company – said: “With a flood of tablets hitting the market, we felt strongly that the LG Optimus Pad needed to set a new standard for what a tablet should be. We think the LG Optimus Pad achieves the right blend of portability and viewability with no performance compromises.”
