Amazon adds Instant Videos to its Amazon Prime service

The new video service - Instant Videos - launched recently by Amazon. com will essentially enable Prime customers to stream content to a horde of devices including a Mac, PC, and various set-top boxes including Roku; and a range of HDTV brands, like Samsung, Panasonic, and Vizio.

Going by the official information shared by Amazon, Prime streaming works with “more than 200 devices.” A page on the Amazon site clearly reveals which products are supported by the service.

Amazon's streaming service has been tested to be up and running on a number of HDTVs, like the Panasonic TC-65VT25; Vizio's XVT553SV; Samsung’s UNC46C6500 and UN55C8000; Sony’s KDL-52NX800; as well as on the Roku HD XR.

The Instant Videos service will allow Amazon Prime customers to stream more than 5,000 movies and TV shows. The movies that will be available for streaming will include Risky Business, Best in Show, Starman, Roger & Me, The Mask, and Enter the Dragon.

While some of these devices connected to the Internet via Ethernet; others were connected to home networks via Wi-Fi.

Amazon Prime customers who wish to get the new Instant Videos service working on a supported device can do so by linking the app to their Amazon Prime account.
