While, rumours continue to swirl, Shonda Rhimes, creator of popular TV series 'Grey's Anatomy', including series star James Pickens Jr. setting the record straight said Katherine Heigl and T. R. Knight are not exiting ABC's medical drama.

Squashing the rumours, Rhimes told People at the 40th NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles : 'That was a very interesting rumor. And it's not true.'

For long, there have been rumors around Heigl and Knight, including their status with the cast. Heigl has often criticized her character's story line in public, implying she would rather drop out to focus on her film career, after the success of 'Knocked Up' and '27 Dresses' at the box office.

As for Knight, his departure has been rumoured ever since actor Isaiah Washington exit the show after making controversial comments relating to Knight's sexuality.

But, Rhimes swears recent rumors about the two exiting 'Grey's Anatomy' are just comments taken out of context and Heigl and Knight continue to be a part of the show.
