The newly launched Apple iPhone is becoming popular in the corporate and business class of US. The company sold 6.9 million iPhones in the third quarter while rival Research in Motion Ltd’s BlackBerry sold 6.1 million units in the US market. Apple currently holds about 17.3 of the market share while BlackBerry is still ahead of Apple.
Founder of research firm, J.Gold Associates, Jack Gold said that people are proffering Iphone due to business reasons. Its powerful browse and good interface facility is proving very attractive feature for executives. The ongoing slowdown impacted its sale but it has done good business in reporting quarter.
Apple has still to do a lot of things to capture the entrepreneur market of US. Some improvements and security features in e-mails and financial system needs attention to make it more popular in corporate world. As the holiday season is approaching and companies are preparing lists for gifts, iPhone sale may raise in coming days. However, it’s very difficult to overtake RIM which holds quit big share of market with its innovative products.
