It is a Tablet Revolution

According to reports following a survey, it was found that there would be fewer personal computers that would be shipped in 2011. The customers are waiting for the approach of tablets in the market.

Reports state that a Lenovo tablet running on Windows 7 was previewed at January’s Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Statistical figures expect PC shipments to be around 387.8 million this year. There has been an increase of only 10.5 % from the last year.

This has been a very low figure as far as the expectations were concerned. The expected forecast was of 15.9 %. The forecast of the year 2012 claims to be around 440.6 million, a 13.6 % higher from this year but again lower than the projected 14.8 %.

The study concludes that this trend is due to the upcoming tablets in the market. Recently Apple Inc.’s have launched a new iPad. The shares of apple rose by 2.1 % and closed at $359.56.

“Up to now, the appeal of mobile PCs has been their portability. But mainstream mobile PCs have not shed sufficient weight, and do not offer the all-day battery life, to substantiate their promise of real mobility”, the researcher added.
