In what couldn't have been more perfect timing, Justin Timberlake, whose own clothing line William Rast, is on the runway at this week's New York Fashion show in its second outing, the grammy-winning pop singer has topped GQ magazine's list of the '10 most Stylish Men in America'.

Timberlake, 28, whose impact on fashion, willingness to take risks and 'knack for targeting trends', from hats, three-piece suits, skinny ties to beards, has won him high praise from the men's magazine, credits Paul Harless, his banker stepfather for his sense of style.

In GQ's March issue, Timberlake told the magazine his stepfather would unfailingly lay out his suit for the next morning each night, going to work looking 'like Richard Gere in (American) Gigolo'. 'I was like, I want to dress like that! He was just so cool,' says Timberlake. He also told GQ that he considers model Kate Moss to be a style icon, as she 'could put a barrel on and it would be some sort of statement'.

As for his signature style i. e. wearing a suit with sneakers, the singer who went solo in 2002 after rising to fame as a singer with boy band 'N Sync, told the magazine, it was more about practicality than fashion, as: 'I just put sneakers on because I couldn't dance in the shoes I had. I couldn't leap with just insoles and dress shoes. I would've hurt myself.'

Others who made it to the list of 'Stylish Men' include music producer Mark Ronson at No. 2 and photographer Alex Lubomirski in third place, joined by rappers Kanye West and T. I., actor Jason Schwartzman, and hotelier Andre Balazs.

Cameron Diaz, Paris Hilton and Eddie Murphy are a few of the celebrities spotted wearing items from Timberlake's clothing line, best known for its range of jeans, including other items like jackets, vests and graphic T-shirts.
