Adele is Numero Uno with 1 Million Copies Sold

Creating an entirely new record, Adele has sold over 1 million copies of her new album ‘21’ in the span of just three months from its release.

As per the ratings of the Official Charts Company, the London-based singer has left behind newcomers like Beady Eye and Jessie J.

Even Rihanna’s ‘S&M’ could not spell the same magic as that of the songs of Adele.

According to the new ratings, Jessie J’s ‘Who You Are’ is at number two position while, Beady Eye’s ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ has debuted at number three.

She is not only ruling the album charts but also holding the number one position at Top Ten in Singles category.

A spokesman for the Official Charts Company, Martin Talbot, said that is quite unusual for a young singer like her to attain this kind of repute so early.

He further added: “We are witnessing a real superstar in the making. A million sales in six weeks for one album would be impressive enough but to have another album and two singles continuing to sell so strongly, plus heading both the Official Singles and Albums Charts simultaneously is truly exceptional”.

Adele was first recognized by XL Recordings for her exceptional talent when she posted her demo of three songs on MySpace.
