Unilever is on the spree of pulling out a section of stock of the Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and the Skippy Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter Spread from the market.

The questioned product was pulled out of several states, including Illinois, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin in the wake of reports suggesting salmonella infection.

Health experts have voiced their concern over the effect of salmonella infection in the products. Moreover, they have alerted the people, especially children and people with weak immunity if they observe salmonella symptoms like fever, diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Meanwhile, the authorities have appealed consumers to keep a check on the products they have purchased in order to avoid any health concern. With the rising concern, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have come forward to speed up the procedure.

As per latest reports, no serious case has been reported in any region, but the Company spokesman has assured best possible help to all those who have noticed any contaminated product.
