Deal Cancelled Over Weak Gay Right Support

Reports suggest that a major marketing deal with US retailer Target has been cancelled by Lady Gaga over the issue of weak gay support by the company. Target had been criticised for being anti-gay and they were expected to launch an exclusive version of Gaga’s forthcoming album.

"Lady Gaga and Target came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership a few weeks ago", a spokesperson for the singer said.

But the Advocate and Metro Weekly said that the decision did not go into a financial dispute. According to Bob Witeck, the discussion was in a very sensitive state last week. He has a better knowledge regarding the entire proceedings of the last week.

Many Gaga fans were not satisfied with the deal because Target has given a corporate donation of $150,000 to MN Forward. This is a group which is against gay marriage.

Lady Gaga told Billboard that during deal signing it was mentioned that Target has to affiliate themselves with LGBT charity groups.

The third album of Lady Gaga is ready for release on 23 May, 2011, with Elton John as the lead.
