Online Home Delivery Service of John Lewis Expands to 27 Countries

The online home delivery service of John Lewis partnership (JPL) would be extended to 27 countries by this August. The new countries in the expansion would include the USA, Singapore and Australia.

The major part of the expansion is to provide the services to 11 European countries, including Ireland, France and Germany. The delivery services in these countries would start by this June.

Other 16 countries outside Europe includes Singapore, US, New Zealand and Australia. The services in these countries would start from August.

The John Lewis department stores and Waitrose are doing a great job. The John Lewis Partnership has invested £233m into new store, systems and online initiatives.

The Chairman of John Lewis partnership, Charlie Mayfield, said that the customers are spending in the company with low confidence and they expect it to improve from spring.

The partnership has also received a 20% hike in pre-tax profits to £367.9m for the 12 months to 29 January. Following the great performance, John Lewis has paid a bonus of 18% of annual salary to its 76,500 employees.
