Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach Ordered HQCA Enquiry

There is no early respite for Alberta health care service. As per reports, Premier Ed Stelmach had finally nodded for an open enquiry to probe the allegation made by independent MLA, Raj Sherman.

For the past six months, the Alberta health services is struggling to cope up with serious charges made on the issue of death of 250 cancer patients because of lengthy waiting list of surgeries.

With public pressure surmounting on Mr. Stelmach, a thorough investigation of the matter has been ordered to the Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA).

Besides the serious allegations made by Sherman, the investigation team is going to look deep into the complaint launched by a fellow physician claiming that around 322 patients have to lose their life due to long waiting time in the emergency ward.

Nevertheless the enquiry team is going to stringently study the actual cause of such unfortunate incidents, the political game surrounding Dr. Sherman is going to be left untouched.

Responding to the ordered inquiry, opposition liberal MLA, Kevin Taft asserted the need of conducting a full and fair probe so that such medical practices can be properly checked.

Dr. John cowell, HQCA Chief Executive Officer reportedly assured that the team would do full justice to their duty and no intervention, whatsoever, would be tolerated.
