Women Handle Workplace Pressure under a Lot of Stress: Study

A recently conducted study has reported that women these days might be under an increasing amount of stress. Apparently, the growing pressures at work and the added responsibilities at home have had a negating effect on the mental health of a number of women.

It was further stated in the research that stress further alleviated because of the availability of cellphones and access to the internet.

The research was carried out by a team of researchers from the University of Toronto and had used data regarding 1,000 people working in America. The study basically revolved around the team trying to find out how men and women dealt with stressful situations at workplace.

Following the research, it was found by experts that men were less likely to be stressed as women. The report has already appeared in the March edition of the publication known as the Journal of Health and Social Behavior.

Talking about the study, one of the authors and a Professor of Sociology at the University of Toronto, Scott Schieman, said that men and women looked at work and home in a very different manner. They said the basic reason behind the different attitudes by the two was because of previous notions.

Schieman added, "I think one of the main things (to focus on) was how men's level of guilt seemed to be the same at all levels of work contact; however, women's levels seemed to rise in a significant way".
