It is a fight between two internet marketing giants. Reports states that the internet giant Amazon. com has cut off the ties with Illinois over some tax issue. This happened due to a new law which has been imposed. According to the law Amazon. com needs to collect sales tax from its users.
After this thing has triggered, Amazon had sent a notice to Illinois that it would not be dealing from April 15 onwards. The report which Amazon sent also states that the tax law is counterproductive and unconstitutional.
After Amazon responded another internet marketing website known as overstock. com also followed the same path. They reported that they would be stopping the deals with Illinois from May 1 onwards.
According to sources, the government has also advertised a fewer jobs than earlier in the month of January. It shows that the hiring level is cut down.
Only 2.76 million of jobs are listed for January. This report has been confirmed by Labour Department on Friday. The total jobs were down by 161,000 or 5.5 percent in comparison with December’s report.
Most of the job cut was due to the lesser position available in state and local government offices.
The latest report from the Labour Department also suggests that there has been 1.8 percent job decline in private sector, bringing down the figures to 2.45 million.
