Research for Improved Tuberculosis Cure
Research for Improved Tuberculosis Cure

In a new study on tuberculosis done by the researchers, certain progressive facts were discovered. The research was done to find out the relevant options of antibiotics that can help in completely curing tuberculosis.

The problem the researchers have always faced is that the bacterium is extremely difficult to handle. It remains untraceable for a long time as it stays hidden deep within the cells. As the growth is extremely slow it takes a long time to reach a detectable stage.

The cure for tuberculosis has been very difficult to follow as one is required to take the medication for around over four to six months and cannot miss a single dose.

Around 25 scientists will work together as it is not possible for a single academic lab to provide the required results for the discovery and research on tuberculosis. The twenty-five scientist mainly from Europe will be working together on new projects which shall also include U.S. and India.

The scientists are waiting for European and collaborators including AstraZeneca. The compounds sent by them will be tested to see if they can kill the DNA gyrase.

Whatever might be the result, the scientists will continue their fight to find the compounds to kill the bacterium and the DNA gyrase.
