The Trans-Fat in food content has become one of the major causes of heart attacks. This has been revealed after a study was conducted in Sri Lanka. Following the unpleasant situation, the World Bank has requested Sri Lanka to improve the laws for the processed food. The concern is to improve the quality and packaging of the processed food.
The World Bank believes if the quality and the packaging are improved, it will help the country to control the increasing levels of non-communicable diseases (NCD) like heart attacks.
To solve the problem of increasing numbers in patients suffering from heart disease, diabetes, cancers and other NCDs, the Bank suggested that they should find solutions that are population-based and individual patient-based.
It is extremely important to make everyone understand the methods to deal with the unhealthy lifestyle.
The saturated, unsaturated and the harmful man made fats have carbon atoms which are linked with hydrogen atoms on either of the sides. These chains are known as the fatty acid chains. Few of the examples for the fatty acid chains would be whole milk, cream, cheese, ghee, Meat (beef, lamb, pork ham and bacon), lard, dripping fast foods, meat pies, sausages, dairy products (butter). Such edible substances are considered as one of the main reasons for obesity in a person.
