During a two-part interview recorded for Fox News Channel's 'On the Record', Bristol Palin, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's 18-year-old daughter, an unmarried mother, while acknowledging abstinence is 'not realistic at all', says teenagers should avoid having sex.
Barely days after President hopeful John McCain named the governor as his running mate, Palin announced her teenage daughter's pregnancy. Bristol , engaged to Levi Johnston, gave birth to their baby, a boy named Tripp, on 27th December.
Bristol says telling her parents about her pregnancy, was 'harder than labor', and she could not have done it, without Levi and her best friend helping her break the news. She also says it bothers here when people say her mother forced her to have the baby, when the choice was hers alone.
The Palins who were in Fairbanks, where the interview was recorded, watched the governor's husband, Todd Palin, a four-time winner of the world's longest snowmobile race, cross the finish line of the 2,000-mile Tesoro Iron Dog snowmobile race, with his team coming in sixth.
The governor who also appeared in the interview, said she was proud of her daughter, who is a strong, bold young woman and makes an amazing mother, with the baby lucky to have her as his mama.
The first half of the interview aired Monday night, the second part broadcasts tonight i. e. Tuesday night.
