Touch-Screen High-Def Cameras announced by Sony

On Tuesday, six novel cameras were announced by Sony, which also included the touch-screen Cybershot DSC-T90, the
12-megapixel DSC-W230, and the most compelling model, the Cyber-shot DSC-T900.

There would be the combination of two feature-driven cameras that entered the market late last year in the T900. The T900 will also utilize the high-resolution 3.5-inch touch-screen LCD (921k pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio) from the DSC-T700 and the high-definition video recording capabilities (720p at 30 frames per second) of the Cyber-shot DSC-T500.

A dock that provides an HDMI-out which supports a feature called "Consumer Electronic Control," is also include din the Cyber-Shot DSC-T900 apart from having high-resolution screen and HD video recording.

If the users connect it to an HDTV's HDMI port that also supports "CEC," the two devices can communicate and control each other. The users can navigate the camera's menu using the HDTV's remote control by just connecting the camera and HDTV.

The price tag of T900, which also features a 12.1-megapixel captures, a 4x optical zoom is $379.

Furthermore, the Cyber-shot DSC-T90 has also been added to the T-Series of Sony that features slim touch-screen cameras. It should be noted here that the new camera is almost identical to the T77 both offer 4x optical zoom and use a 3-inch touch-panel 16:9 LCD screen with 230k pixels.

The T90 that carries a price tag of $299, has a do 12-megapixel captures (versus the T77's 10MP) and adds HD video recording, 720p at 30 frames per second (fps).

Coming to its W-series line, Sony also updated it with some of the high-end features found in the T-Series, like smile detection and optical image stabilization, at a more affordable price by not including a touch-screen LCD. A 4x optical zoom through a 30mm lens and a 3-inch LCD with 230k pixels (4:3 aspect ratio) is included in the12-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-W230 and it carries a price tag of $199.

The Cyber-shot DSC S980 was the camera included in the least-expensive S-Series as an update. The camera that carries a price tag of $149, does digital image stabilization only (lacks optical stabilization), captures 12.1 megapixels, has a 4x optical zoom through a
33mm lens, and uses a 2.7-inch LCD.

The last announcement which was made by the company was regarding a super-zoom camera dubbed as Cyber-shot DSC-H20. It would sell for $279, and does10x optical zoom through a 38mm lens, offers 10.1-megapixel captures, records HD video (720p at 30 fps) and dons a 2-inch LCD screen.

However, no announcement was made regarding the availability of the cameras by Sony.
