Cholera is Dangerous

The people residing in Limbang are advised to take precautionary measures against cholera. There has been an outbreak of cholera which led to 111 cases over the past week.

Hasbi Habibollah, Member of Parliament, quoted on Tuesday that the situation is now handled by the Health Department. However, the precautionary steps taken by the public would prevent the spreading of this disease.

While speaking to a team of reporters he claimed that the health department has focused on several villages along the Batang Limbang River.

"I have been informed that the people of Kampung Buang Abai, Kampung Pandam, Kampung Mengatai, Kampung Gadong and Lubok Piasau were among the focused area", he added.

After this incident occurred, the local body of the health department has created a treatment facility for the sufferers.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul Rahman Ismail claimed that the people who were affected were mostly from the areas where clean water supply is not present.

He also claimed that the health department authorities should do all the efforts required to stop the spreading of this disease.

The cholera outbreak was first noticed on March 6, after a wedding ceremony. Several guests at the venue were hospitalized after they complained of stomach ache.
