AT&T Inc. (T) and T-Mobile USA have announced their surprise merger on Sunday, worth $39 billion. The merger aims at developing country’s largest wireless carrier with approximately 130 million customers.
The merger was announced at Orlando’s annual trade shows. The deal gained the interest of all leading network operators. Experts believe that the deal was a crucial moment in the wireless industry.
T-Mobile USA is the U. S. wireless arm of Deutsche Telekom AG. T-Mobile has also announced the launch of a variety of new phones which include the Android 2.2 device which will be available in spring but no information is available on the prices. T-Mobile has also publicized its Sidekick 4G phone recently. The phone will cost $99.99 on two-year plan.
The company’s G-Slate tablet with 8.9-inch display which is the tablet version of Google's Android operating system will be publicized in Florida. The tablet will cost $529.99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate. T-Mobile also will be soon launching a new 4G mobile hotspot built by ZTE at CTIA. The mobile will come along with 4G-capable laptop sticks.
