RIM wasted its 10% shares in the company’s forecast for the fiscal first quarter. The company’s executives tried to express much more optimism about the quarterly forecast of the Research In Motion Limited (RIM), but still the investors were disappointed with the monetary quarter earnings of RIM.
During the quarterly forecast, they also launched its Playbook tablet, a book which contains a script of the story for a theatrical play, or a television show that airs on NFL Network.
According to the analysts, RIM forecast is $6.82, but RIM executives tone down the analysts and said that RIM forecast is $7.50 for a year.
Co-Chief Executive, Jin Balsillie said that to ensure a change in the new BlackBerry 6.1 operating system, the company will make a serious investment.
Balsillie was also very excited with the interest shown by many customers in the Playbooks tablet.
According to RIM’s executives, expanses of marketing the much anticipated tablet and the costs for the transition to major software were the responsible factors of less quarterly forecast.
Executives further added that they will not provide any sales forecast for the Playbook.
“We feel great”, Balsillie said. “It’s a transition. It’s got legs to sustain us indefinitely. We are investing very heavily in this transition. It’s just happening at a time where it’s competitive in North America”.
