Facebook has released the "Comments Box" - its first expansive widget for its lately-initiated platform Facebook Connect - by which site owners would be able to incorporate a comments section into their webpage.
Under Facebook's new commenting system, the comments sent to Comments Box will receive a relay-back of communication to the Facebook profiles of the users, and the dialogue can go on and so forth.
Sites with Connect incorporation having already noted a 50 percent increase in comments, and the new widget will now widen the comments arena - enabling your friends on Facebook to view your comments, and put in their own remarks too!
Describing the widget on its company blog, Facebook said: "With the Comments Box, Facebook users on your site can comment on your content, post those comments to their profiles, and share them with their friends on Facebook. Non-Facebook users can also make comments on your site as well. And via our APIs, you can access related comments made on Facebook as well to bring the conversation together."
At the outset, Comments Box appears to move beyond the 'social network' periphery of Facebook. Still, it is not very comprehensible to what extent the Facebook widget will be of assistance to blog owners who have already fitted other commenting systems. However, it is apparent that the widget will be a collection of similar widgets, set to impinge on JS-Kit, IntenseDebate and Disqus.
