Huge sums of taxpayer money were wasted due to the special legislative session that had been continuing for a while and had wasted a lot of funds. The Kentucky House of representatives took a stand to bring this session to an end.

There had been many a raised eyebrows due to this among the health care providers as well as the receivers of care such as police officers and teachers. This session had actually diverted people from their normal course of life and moved people away from their jobs.

Steve Beshear was of the view that it was a courageous vote and was happy for the way things have taken a turn. He was of the view that by doing these recent activities and by accepting the majority and by rewriting of the House Bill 1, they have made things easier.

He said that now the bill can directly come onto his desk. He also said he would then work to the best of his capabilities to bring the situation back to normal. He said that earlier on it had started as a minor issue and could have been dealt with easily. Things had become more twisted sine the past few weeks.
