A Novel Theory Unveils Mystery of Long-Neck Sauropod

A unique dinosaur research is capturing the attention of people. As per a team of two scientists from Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Glasgow, the long necked (Sauropod) dinosaurs does not have the consistent capacity to reach at the top of trees to feed themselves just like giraffes.

Contrary to the belief of dinosaur researchers, the team believes that the energy required to feed like giraffe is very and hence, it’s difficult to be attained by Sauropod.

Striking an analogy between movement of dinosaur’s neck and cylindrical shape of the vacuum cleaners, Dr. Dave Wilkinson (LJMU) asserted, “By analogy to old style vacuum cleaners, the long neck of the Sauropods might have been an adaptation to allow less movement of the exceptionally heavy body of these animals while feeding”.

In order to dig into this matter, the team used mathematical models of energy in order to reveal the mystery behind the energy contained in the long neck of Sauropod.

The result claimed that the some of the Sauropods might have reached the top of trees like giraffes, but there were many of who took the extra step hard to use the energy of their long necks to reach at the bottom of the vegetation to feed themselves.
