Dr Eng Soh Ping, Director and consultant, of ASCENT Ear Nose Throat Specialist Group, said that in the nascent ages, the disease could be treated with antibiotics. He said if the disease remains untreated, it can results into an acute otitis media, which leads to the life-altering complications for kids.

Dr. Lulu Bravo, Vice Chancellor for Research, revealed that this ailment is often mistreated. He said that AOM does not result into death, but can lead to it. AOM is very common and serious disease, and still it can be prevented. In Asian region, around 90% of kids suffer from the disease.
