H1N1 Swine Flu Outbreak in El Paso, USA and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

H1N1 swine flu outbreak has been noticed in El Paso, USA and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. More than 3 people were reported with the condition. An Epidemiologist from El Paso Department of Health ensured that they will take care of the condition and people should not worry about it.

Meanwhile, in Ciudad Juarez (state of Chihuahua), 2 were killed; one male and one female, and many others are suffering from H1N1.

Chihuahua authorities confirmed that in El Paso there were 357 flu cases, of which three had H1N1 virus, though in February 302 flu cases were reported out of which 26 had H1N1 virus.

Ciudad Juarez launched a vaccination campaign because of the H1N1 epidemic. Authorities revealed that 4,800 vaccines will be authorized to citizens and government employees. In Chihuahua, it was announced that around 4,000 citizens will be vaccinated.

According to the local media, 25 suspected cases with H1N1 have been reported on the Mexican side of border.

According to Jose Angel Cordova, Health Secretary, the flu cases in Ciudad are believed to be related with the increased flu rates in Texas.
