Marks & Spencer (M&S) is all set to roll down the Champs-Élysées, after a decade’s of absence. M&S group will be opening up 15,000 square foot store on the Paris’s renowned streets. The Chief Executive, Marc Bolland, said that the store would concentrate upon women's fashion, lingerie and food.
Speaking about M&S as a brand, he said that M&S brand speaks customer’s heart. It is recognized as one of the hot brands. Mr. Bolland further said that M&S's research shows that there is a huge desire for the chain in the city is huge This time the group is returning with an e-commerce and retail offer to delight customers with full range of clothing and home products, and the exceptional food from the group’s Paris store.
M&S closed down its last French store on Boulevard Haussmann in May 2001. As a consequence, it lost an incredible amount of goodwill in France. Marc Bolland said that the new move is all about "looking forward" not "looking back".
Ten years of absence is said to be a blip in the company’s history, said Bolland. The return to France has come as several other UK retailers, including Dixons and Mothercare, are reported of booming overseas sales as their domestic market are shrinking.
