According to a new merger between the Qwest Communications and Century Link, there has been the development of a communications company that will cover about 681 square miles. It becomes the second largest one according to this merger, the first being AT&T.

According to the merger, the size of CenturyLink would reach its double.

According to the CEO of the firm, this move is a very positive and transformational one for their firm. It is now going to be possible for the firm to give a more fluent flow of their products and services.

The firm CenturyLink will now have its operational set up in as many as 37 states, and they shall continue their trade according to the long-distance norms with about 50 states.

The merger has opened doors for fairer and wider trade. The headquarters of the firm shall remain in Monroe. The impact that it has on the economy of the area is expected to rise due to expansion in action. "There is an opportunity to add jobs here", he said. "Additionally, there will be an influx of suppliers and people who work with us as contract workers.
