Smoking Banned Even in Balconies in select residential homes in Sydney

A small residential flat group in Sydney was the first one in the World to ban smoking inside residential homes.

This has however caused protests among the smokers of the area but on the other hand it has delighted the non-smokers. The law stops people from smoking in the residential areas and also in the balconies.

It is now expected by the people that other building authorities would soon take the same steps and ban smoking in the building areas.

"We've made it a smoke-free zone in its entirety", Alex Antic, Chairman of the Owners' Corporation, said.

There had been complaints regarding smoke drifting from other flats and also butts from balconies. This has been a move which has been taken to control smoking in the building areas and to avoid inconvenience for people.

People need healthy air for living and this has been taken care of by the housing authority. Smoking causes severe health effects and banning smoking would cause people to stay away from this act. It is a way to help people protect their health.

A spokesperson have quoted that there were many people who claimed for this law, as they were really uncomfortable with the smokers of the buildings.
