Malek Doesn’t Believe Durians Caused His Heart Attack

Mr. Asia Datuk Abdul Malek Noor, 54, has a doubt that the durians he consumed prior to the charity football match caused him a heart attack. He marked his statement yesterday when he was met at Pantai Hospital Ipoh by saying that “I don't think the durians had to do with the blockage (of the arteries)”.

Last Wednesday, a National Athletes Welfare Foundation delegation went to Perak for the football match. Malek was also the part of this fund-raising program and took part in the event but unfortunately he collapsed in a short while after the match began. A Malay tabloid had speculated that his attack was triggered by durians which Malek had eaten before the charity match.

“I told myself that this is not how I want to die. I prayed to Allah to give me a second chance and it was answered. I will live my life to the fullest after being granted a second life' and promise to take good care of my health,” he said.

Though Malek has been shifted from the intensive care unit to the normal ward but he is still being monitored very closely by the authorities and is found to be recovering well from the hard phase.
