Katie Couric to Leave Her Post of Anchor

Katie Couric is the first woman ever to solely host an evening newscast at a television network. She reached that position less than 5 years ago and has now announced that she is quitting her position.

It has not yet been made official, there are merely speculations being made regarding this new development. It has also been revealed by close sources that she has further plans to move to The Associated Press.

She is one of the best in the business and companies are yearning to rope her into their team. It is expected that she launches her talk show by the year 2012.

She had begun her career in the year 2006 with the show called “Today” and later became the anchor in the same year. She is one person who has changed the format of news according to the likes and interests of the viewers. She amalgamated her anchoring capabilities with the standard news format.

She was a hit for the first few weeks but later the ratings slumped down after there were other rivals in the business.

“We're having ongoing discussions with Katie Couric”, said CBS News spokeswoman Sonya McNair on Sunday. “We have no announcements to make at this time. Until we do, we will continue to decline comment on rumor or speculation”.
