Recently, a complaint was launched by DuPont Co. against USA Performance Technology Inc., Performance Group (USA) Inc. and two of its employees with a serious allegation of misappropriating confidential details of its titanium pigment manufacturing process.
Referring to the manufacturing process at the titanium pigment plant in Kuan Yin, Taiwan as the target of misappropriation, the company officials reported that the confidential information of its manufacturing process was found on the company computer of one of the alleged.
Though DuPont has filed a suit against USA Performance Technology and Performance Group but the filing of the complaint could not be confirmed through the electronic records as none of the both returned a message left on their voicemail.
In an official statement, Thomas Sager, DuPont’s General Counsel said, “DuPont is working closely with law enforcement authorities with information regarding this matter. The suit seeks an injunction requiring return of its trade secret information, prohibiting use of its proprietary information and unspecified damages”.
The firm is known to be the largest manufacturer of titanium dioxide in the world and this is commonly used in coatings, plastics and paper.
