In a commendable initiative, the Coalition government of UK has launched a unique website which would enable public to question the unnecessary rules and regulations that hamper the overall productivity by putting an extra burden on the businesses and society.
The government has taken this step to seek public’s opinion on which regulations they believe are useful and which should be omitted in different sectors.
Though all the parts of the website have not been updated yet but it will take another few weeks to publish details of regulations in an individual sector which they hope would invite the useful responses from public and industry.
The government is expecting these responses to the regulations in different sectors like hospitality, road transportation, fisheries, manufacturing, and media and creative services.
Talking about the aim of having a government to leave this country with less red tape than it inherited, the Prime Minister said, “Where regulation is well-designed and proportionate, it should stay. But it is hard to believe that we need government regulations on issues such as ice-cream van musical jingles. That's why I want us to be the first government to leave office having reduced the overall burden of regulation”.
