Reports claimed that around 230,000 Icelandic voters went for the poll. This poll was conducted for approval or rejection of a renegotiated deal to provide compensates Britain and The Netherlands over the 2008 Icesave Bank collapse.

The latest report claimed that the deal with a 3.9 billion euro is having a higher margin of “no” votes.

The Netherland and Britain spent this amount to compensate some 340,000 of their citizens who have lost their money when the Icesave, an online financial organization collapsed due to heavy financial crisis.

According to the deal made, the Iceland would be allowed to repay the amount gradually till 2046 at an interest rate of 3% to The Netherland and around 3.3 % to Britain.

This amount would become 12,000 euro per citizen.

Iceland's negotiator, US lawyer Lee Buchheit, said the new accord "was the best agreement that could be negotiated at the time and under the circumstances. The longer (the matter concerning) Icesave remains unresolved, the more serious the consequences will be for the Icelandic nation.”

Both the sided did campaigns on the internet to satisfy those who have still not made their decisions.
