Doctor Kermit Gosnell Suspected of Performing Illegal Abortions
A Doctor Found Guilty of Performing Illegal Abortions

A Philadelphia doctor, Kermit Gosnell has been suspected of performing illegal abortions at a clinic for over 30 years. Many of the women who came to the doctor for abortions have now developed life-threatening infections and punctured organs. Some of them still have fetal parts inside them. It was discovered when these women were admitted at a nearby hospitals in the need of emergency care.

The medical practices carried out at the doctor’s clinic were fraudulent. The patients were overdosed with dangerous drugs and were treated with infected instruments.

Recent details of the case has also unveiled that the doctors at the University of Pennsylvania Health System which operates two hospitals within a mile of Gosnell's squalid abortion clinic, failed to report the terrible condition of patients who came to them after visiting Gosnell.

Assistant District Attorney, Christine Wechsler, said that Gosnell faces multiple charges of first-degree murder which meets the standards of a death penalty case. Gosnell's defense attorney said that his client is 70 years old and has no prior convictions so death penalty makes a little sense.
