Homemade Food Has Been Outlawed By Little Village Academy

According to the Chicago Tribune, it has been revealed that parents and teachers are very annoyed with the Little Village Academy, a public school on Chicago's West Side for banning the lunches brought from home.

The newspaper reported that school has banned the home made lunch until and unless student doesn’t have the medical prescription. However, the school said that they have made this policy to just boost up the healthy eating; as students will have to eat the lunch served in the cafeteria.

School Principal, Elsa Carmona said that the rule has been made after observing that children bring "bottles of soda and flaming hot chips" in homemade lunch. She said that cafeteria provides the nutritious food for promoting healthy food style.

Meanwhile, Chicago Public Schools Spokeswoman, Monique Bond has denied from the fact that there is no such rule in the campus. She said that newspaper has shown a misleading quote. She said that students are not prohibited to bring lunch from home.

Ms. Bond said that form past 6 years Elsa, the Principal has been performing well in school environment and she has never outlawed that students will not pack food from their home.
