Mums with Young Kids are Chubbier, Study

A study by researchers from the University of Minnesota has revealed that mothers with young children are chubbier than women without kinds. The study was published on Monday in Pediatrics.

According to study, mothers with young children consume food rich in sugar and saturated fats.  It has been found that young mothers consumed about 370 more calories per day and were one point heavier on the body-mass index scale than non-mothers. However, no such founding was found between dads’ and non-dads’ eating habits or weight.

Chubbiness or obesity is not only limited women with young child but it also account for the new mums who don’t exercise regularly. It has been observed that they exercise 4.7 hours per week compared with the 5.7 hours that non-moms spend on exercising. Whereas dads works out for 8.3 hours of exercise each week, compared with 10 hours for men without children.

The study has also revealed that women who give birth to babies at younger age tend to be black and of lower socioeconomic status and these factors impacts upon women’s body negatively.
