Three Children Robbed in Houston County

Houston County Sheriff’s Lt., Jon Holland said that a man and woman snatched the money, $150, from the 13-year-old girl, Chelsea Edwards, who was selling lemonade in central Georgia with her two friends in order to raise funds for her 2-year-old cousin, who will soon undergo treatment for an intestinal disease in Cincinnati.

Holland said that this is the first time in his life time that someone robbed children at a lemonade stand.

The toddler’s mother, April Varnadoe, said that after 12 hours of telecast on a local channel, they have received more than $3,000.

His father, Jason Varnadoe said that Little Logan Varnadoe has spent 70% of his life at hospitals in Macon, Atlanta, Tennessee and Pennsylvania. He has neurological and gastrointestinal problems. He had many surgeries for the treatment.

The Vernadoe family is astonished after the support of people and the little Logan has been receiving the celebrity-like status.

The suspected of the case 21-year-old Amber M. Umbarger and 20-year-old Gage Allen Turner have been arrested by the authorities.

Holland said that a website has been launched for those who want to help people by donating money.

April Varnadoe said, "It's overwhelming, it’s such a blessing”.
