The information regarding the inflation rates and the economic growth of the most populated country in the world was on internet much before its official release.
The action has received an opposite reaction from the Chinese officials who have now hinted for the strict actions against the defaulters who are responsible for the release of country’s sensitive information on economy, much prior than its scheduled time.
It is reported that the on the website of a premier television broadcaster in the country, Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings Ltd., there were as many as 10 indicators of economy listed on it.
Though the figures were much similar to the actual ones, which were later released formally, there was no mention of the source from where they were obtained.
It is learnt that as many as 9 numbers were same with the ones divulged by the China’s central bank and by the National Bureau of Statistics later.
The incident has ignited the temper of the concerned officials who have called for the punishments in the near future regarding the matter.
A spokesman for the Statistics Bureau of China said: “We believe any illegal behavior will be punished by law. Those spreading state secrets on the Internet or other public information networks should be held accountable”.
