The recent proposal made by the officials from the London Underground is expected to be turned down by the Rail Union.
The deal included a five-year pay proposal that was supposed to take responsibility of the Olympic Games, which are scheduled to take place in the next year.
As per the claims made by the London Underground, everything from the union concerns to the other policies would be well taken care of by the authorities.
In fact, an assurance that the rise in the payroll of the staff by 4% will take place was also given.
But, despite so many advocacies, the idea did not go well with the bosses at the Rail Union.
Doug Blundell from the Transport Salaried Staffs Association stated: "The offer in the first year at 4% does not help our members stay ahead in the cost of living race, regardless of what is offered down the line. At a time of rising fuel and utility bills, this is simply not enough. Promises of jam tomorrow won't wash”.
In response, defending the company, LU's Chief Operating Officer, Howard Collins, asserted that the proposal was made after considering all the aspects but what was offered was “fair and affordable”.
