A recent survey carried out by the University of Western Sydney has found that majority of Australian working women likes doing household work. These women enjoy cooking, washing clothes, cleaning the house and other such activities.
The survey was conducted on 600 career women in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Gwyneth Howell, the Study's Coordinator from UWS's School of Communication said that some of the women work up to 70 hours a week but
45% of them managed to takes out an average of 10 hours per week for household work.
About 85% of the women participants said that they perform most of the work at home and they do not feel bad if their partners were less involved in the work. Majority of the participants said that they do not want their partners to help out with the laundry because they cause mistakes like mixing delicate clothing with jeans.
Nearly 50% of the women said that they would like to have a cleaner if they could afford and 18% said that they would like someone else to do the ironing of clothes.
