Novo-Nordisk Drug Rendered Off-Label

Novo-Nordisk, the medical giants may have a tough time dealing with the results of the tests if the accusation on their anti-bleeding drug came in to be positive. It has been found that this drug is not beneficial to some patients when they were administered this drug during surgery. Some patients also suffered from side-effects when given this drug.

The usage of this drug has drastically increased over a short period of time. Surgeons rely on it as a source of anti-bleeding drug. Some patients experienced trauma, hemorrhages and surgical bleeding due to this drug. According to studies, the drug has such property that tends to clot the blood excessively and this might lead to unintended clotting of the blood.

This might lead to severe complications in the condition of a person. The drug should be banned to mark the safety of many patients whose life may be at risk due to the use of these drugs. The surgeons have rendered the drug unusable and now there are warnings issued against the use of the same.

"It will never be our responsibility to control and regulate the off-label use. What we can do is never to promote it, which we have never done”, Novo Nordisk Executive Vice President and Chief Science Officer, Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen, told Dow Jones Newswires.
