The Supreme Court Took No Legal Action Related to Health Care Law

The Supreme Court has taken no legal action related to a request from Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia’s Attorney General. The issue was discussed by the justices only at a closed-door conference last Friday.

The court has not taken any action as of now and is expected to discuss the issue again at their next conference, set for April 22.

The Virginia officials have asked the court to speedily determine the constitutionality of the law, which requires most Americans to get health insurance. The lawyers of Obama administration have urged the justices to remain patients until the decision is taken.

The law was signed by the President of US, Barack Obama, last March. The law requires all the Americans to buy health insurance but was opposed by majority of citizens. Most of the people and officials have urged to bring reforms in the law.

Many courts of the country have ruled against the law including Florida-based U. S. District Court. Florida-based U. S. District Court Judge, Roger Vinson said that, “almost everyone agrees that the constitutionality of the act is an issue that will ultimately have to be decided by the Supreme Court of the United States”.
