Police Chief Suggests Babor Step Down from His Position

An Assistant Supply Officer and rice custodian at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (called CPDRC for short), has been relieved from his post and will face a more formal investigation regarding charges against him about the disappearance of 35 bags of NFA rice.

The charges against him came about after Police Chief Cesar Veloso offered a report to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia about removing Babor from his present post as a result of conflicting statements he produced explaining why he made an unauthorized withdrawal from the NFA rice supply, which had been placed at the PSWD (provincial social welfare development) at the storage area of the CPDRC.

In the report, Veloso made three separate recommendations to Governor Garcia about Babor. First, he suggested that he should take a step away from his position and stop acting in his responsibilities. The second suggestion was that he undergo some sort of formal investigation for what happened, and the third was that he should identify is partner(s) in crime since Veloso thought it was clear that he wasn’t acting alone in the situation.

When Babor was caught in the act of having some bags of rice in his possession, he claimed that he bought them from an unknown store and that he did not have a receipt to show for the transaction.
