CSC inks $53 million IT Services Contract with BHP Billiton Petroleum

Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a global leader in technology-enabled solutions and services, has signed a five-year, $53 million information technology (IT) services contract with BHP Billiton Petroleum.

Under the arrangement, CSC will manage global IT operations for BHP Billiton Petroleum, which is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and has operations and offices in approximately 10 countries.

The contract covers enterprise-wide infrastructure, which includes help desk, desktop, midrange, network, high-performance computing and telecommunications services, as well as applications management.

It may be noted that CSC has provided IT support services to various organizations within BHP Billiton for the past eight years.

The scrip of the company slipped 2.53 per cent to $35.02 at the close of Wednesday's trading with over 1,763,000 shares changing hands on the NYSE.
