Flybe is one such carrier which takes off from airports like Bristol, Birmingham, Doncaster, Cardiff, Edinburgh and East Midlands. Besides £22 million profit expectations for the coming year, it has experienced a major down fall as its shares value have drown by around 20 per cent.
According to the reports of the Exeter-based carrier, the regional airline Flybe has seen a drastic down fall in its leisure trips booking. This flight is basically known for business travelers, as 45 percent of its passengers travel for business sake.
Since last February, the number of passengers flying on holiday or for visiting friends and family has eventually dropped. However, in December, Flybe did well in the stock market.
Aiming to combat the soaring fuel costs, the company also added a £3 fuel surcharge per passenger; and for keeping the prices down, even thought of selling off the aircraft.
The estimated profit before taxation for the year that ended March 31 was GBP22 million. Flybe said in a trading update that "This result is in line with the board's expectations for the year and represents a strong performance in view of the challenging economic conditions in the final quarter".
