The series B round of funding, led by the highly esteemed venture capital company Venrock, helped Hyper9 Inc raise $8million. The existing investors Matrix Partners, Maples Investments, and Silverton Partners also participated in the funding round of Hyper9 - a firm well-known for providing management information for virtual infrastructures.
It was in 2007 that enterprise systems management specialists and virtualization futurists founded Hyper9. Ever since its inception, the company has worked towards developing virtualization management products, which influence Internet technologies like search, collaboration and social networking, and help the administrators in discovering, systematizing and utilizing information in their virtual environment.
Hyper9's new virtualization management product, to be launched and marketed in March 2009, would provide the virtual infrastructure administrators the visibility to perform their job effectively, and the control necessary for managing the dynamic environment.
Talking about the second funding round, Hyper9 founder and CEO Chris Ostertag said "Raising a second round of venture capital in today's turbulent economic environment is a true testament to what our team has created at Hyper9. We are redesigning what virtual administrators can expect from their management solution in the future."
Moreover, there has been an addition to the Hyper9 Board of Directors, with the private investor and tech industry veteran, Mike Maples Sr. - ex-Executive VP of the Worldwide Products Group for Microsoft - joining in!
